What to expect when you Yoga with Lucianna

Woman practicing yoga using a block for support in a serene studio.

It's more of a Yoga Experience

People often think of stretching when they think of yoga.

Yoga is more accurately a state of being not necessarily a series of poses.

That being said, the physical postures that people often associate with yoga do involve a combination of strength, flexibility and balance.

There are parts of the class that are serene and relaxing and other parts where you will feel your muscles working and may even break a sweat!

Each class ends with a 5-7 minute guided relaxation in the posture known as Savasana.

1 Hour per Week

Incorporating this weekly hour with me into your life can help you keep your stress levels in check, ease tension from tired muscles and maintain mobility and balance so you can feel better in your body.

1 Hour per week is not a lot to dedicate to stress management, muscle tension, sensory overload and general health and wellness. Put it in your calendar as an appointment with your self for your self. Time to tune in to YOU.

About The Yogi Medic

Lucianna Borba

I have been teaching yoga in the Central Valley since 1998. I am currently a full time Paramedic in Kings County and single mom to my 18 year old son. Prior to being a Paramedic, I owned Sojourn Yoga from 2008-2021. Covid was a big turning point for many small businesses and Sojourn was one of them. As a single mom, time ran out on using resources to keep the studio open and I made the decision to close and become a Paramedic.

When Covid first happened I was in a documentary about the Pandemic and described that I believed that events such as Covid, were a way of redirecting people to a new path. I had no idea how personal that statement was and how much of a redirect I was about to experience. As much as I loved the experience of having my studio, I can finally say I am grateful the journey led me here. I LOVE being a Paramedic. It is an amazing job and one I was built for. Having the opportunity to teach yoga at Pilates Queen has turned out to be the missing piece. It was a very challenging and heart breaking time as my life was completely dismantled and had to be rebuilt from scratch in my mid 40's! I can finally say that what I have rebuilt is something I would never have imagined and is I life I love.

The world is changed without you in it.

This woman saved my life many times. Our friendship morphed from mentor to Godmother to soul sister over the span of 30 years. I was 21 and she was 48 when we met and we were instant family.

She had the gift of heightened intuition to say the least. She used her gift with integrity, compassion and intelligence. If you had a question, she had the answer. She could look into your mind and heart and illuminate the broken places. She did her healing work in a way that empowered her students/clients to find their own answers while also being genius at knowing just how much info to give to help you see more.

The love Baba gave was the purest. She saw the BEST in me when I was invisible and dedicated herself to helping me see it too. I will think of her and miss her every day for the rest of my life.

In her final days she knew where she was going and she was not afraid. With heaven in her eyes she said many beautiful things to me and to her family. One of the last beautiful messages that she delivered from the great beyond, in the sweetest voice with shining eyes...

"Love is Everything"

No more pain. No more worry. Rest easy my dear Baba.
